      <image:title>Our Team - Jocelynn Johnson, President, Chair Bylaws</image:title>
      <image:caption>Jocelynn Johnson is a Geospatial Analyst with the Government of Manitoba within Manitoba Agriculture and Resource Development. She has several degrees in Geological Sciences, Web Development and Geographic Information Systems. She has worked scientific jobs at the Smithsonian Institution, the Manitoba Geological Survey, Manitoba Infrastructure, and Sustainable Development before her current position. Jocelynn has led several successful organizations including the Manitoba GIS User Group, Manitoba Civil Servants with Abilities Network, Manitoba Service Dogs and most recently founded the Manitoba Deaf Emergency Response group to facilitate communication during the COVID-19 pandemic. She is a strong advocate of people with disabilities, and is a frequent speaker on disability and accessibility-related topics, for instance, her recent TEDxWinnipeg Talk on Service Animals in Manitoba. She delights in educating organizations on their accessibility obligations and in challenging her interpreters with technical jargon and government acronyms.       <image:title>Our Team - Christopher Daeninck, Vice President</image:title>
      <image:caption>Christopher Daeninck is 27 years old. He is Deaf and communicates primarily in American Sign Language. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba and is currently working at Manitoba School for the Deaf as an Educational Assistant. Christopher has been using ECCOE’s interpreting services since he was a young child. He values ASL and ASL interpreting so of course is proud to be a part of the ECCOE board. He is excited to be one of a few young members of the board because youths are full of fresh ideas with different mindsets which can be beneficial to the ASL interpreting services and with ECCOE’s connection to the Deaf communities in Winnipeg and the rest of Manitoba, especially to the growing youth demographic in North America. Christopher has taught ASL and Deaf Culture classes in Calgary while living there for several years, training in speed skating at an elite level. He was part of the group of Deaf and Hard of Hearing athletes and their parents, who rallied to the Manitoba government for the funding for ASL interpreting for Deaf and HH athletes and won.
